START YOUR DAY AT 9:00 AM WITH Consultant Betsi Bixby who will speak on “How to Profit & Survive in an Ever-Changing Business Environment"
When it comes to petroleum cash flow, it’s likely no one is better known and more respected than Betsi Bixby, a speaker before many of North America’s top refiners and professional petroleum associations. Her presentations are full of insight that can reshape a marketer’s vision of what’s possible. She offers a fresh, understandable approach to profit and cash. When Betsi finishes with an audience, amazing things happen, and each member of the audience can walk away with a new perspective and actionable game plan.
GET BUSINESS GROWTH POINTERS AT 10:00 AM from John Levey and Joe Vassallo who will lecture on “The Right Way to Find and Buy an Acquisition,” a most fitting topic for these trying times. As they point out, this year seems to be different from most -- normally “acquisition season” doesn’t start so early. They ask (and answer): Why are people selling? What do sellers do when they’re ready? What can buyers do so that they’re aware of possible acquisitions? How do you make an offer? And, what’s next; i.e., “How do you kick the tires?”
ALSO: Concurrent session at 10:00 AM will review air quality and “Cap & Trade” issues. Heating fuel dealers face a substantial challenge in proposals to regulate carbon and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by a carbon tax, low carbon fuel standards and/or cap-and-trade programs. Whether state, regional, or federal, this must be taken seriously. The Federal EPA and Congress are already laying the groundwork for national programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the carbon content of fuel. Experts from Robinson & Cole, LLP will guide you through the basics of proposals to regulate carbon at the various levels of government and the potential impact on industry. You’ll want to follow this up with our Bioheat session to get a true picture of how the industry can play a leading role in helping create a “greener” and more secure America!.
BIOHEAT® AT 11:00 AM This important session will address upcoming Bioheat mandates in Massachusetts, which is assuredly to be followed by surrounding states and government bodies. With the Massachusetts state-wide mandate scheduled to roll out in July of 2010 industry terminal owners are working at this very moment to ensure that fuel distributors have access to high quality Bioheat with no disruptions. A generous amount of time will be allocated to field your questions. This is the business session component on Bioheat®. A technical session is being held at 9:30 AM.
